For my daughter-in-law

My daughter-in-law's birthday is on Friday and I had made a card much like this for her but yesterday a lady wanted a few cards and I showed her the card I had done for Maggie (of course she did not know that it was for Maggie) and she immediately said "oh! I'll have that" so I'm afraid business comes first - so she took that and the two pink/white ones that I have just shown plus another that I still had from a little while back - so I was very pleased as I sell all my cards for cancer.  This is the latest edition of the card for Maggie.  The image is a digi stamp which I got from Crafts and Me and the background is a stamp which I have recently bought from Waltzingmouse stamps, the pearls are from Wild Orchid and ribbon from my stash.

Variation on a theme

After seeing the romantic rectangles being used on Amazing Paper Grace by Becca Feeken I just had to try this card.   Becca makes the most beautiful feminine cards and when I saw this on her blog for 6th February I had to try it with the dies that I owned.  Do take a look on her blog  www.amazingpapergrace.com it is a treat.

A card for family

Hi everybody and a very warm welcome to Pat.  I only remembered yesterday that one of my relatives will be 82 tomorrow - so I had to come up with something fairly quickly and this is the card that is winging it's way right now.  The only dies I used were the Anja corner from Marianne and the large floral oval from spellbinders the little black corners were cut off an ironworks motif die cut.  The lovely paper was part of a candy I won and I have to say I really love it.

A quick hello.

Hi everybody.  First of all a huge welcome to Willie, Lynne, Marja, June, Vic and Gerrie.  I have not been posting over the last few weeks but I have been beavering away in the background.  I had a number of cards to do which were special requests but I could not display them as they had personal photographs as the focal point .  This card  was one that I did  just to try out my new floral ovals dies.  These are beautiful dies and I really love them.  Hopefully now I will be able to get some more cards done as I have some more new dies that I am looking forward to trying out - they are the romantic rectangles and they look so pretty.  Marie-Louise

A commission

Hi everybody and a very warm welcome to Rita my newest follower.  This card is a request from my next door neighbour for her grand daughter in Australia.  I have used the braided ribbon again as I think it is a nice embellishment, the cardstock is centura pearl and the edge die is one of the spellbinders loaned to me by my dear friend Jeannie (who unfortunately does not yet have a blog despite the fact that she makes beautiful cards).  The stamp I have used is from Belles 'n Whistles and coloured with promarkers and a little glitter on the wings.  Flowers from Wild Orchid and leaves from Marianne dies.  For the first time I have used Kraft card and I like the look that it gives.

It is a very overcast day here today and since I had family here all day yesterday and consequently never got out of the kitchen all day I am now going to spend the rest of the afternoon playing around with more of Jeannies dies.   Have a lovely day.     Marie-Louise

Card for my son

My son who had been suffering from cancer was 23 last week and it coincided with his being in remission for one year.  I made this card for him and although he liked it he did think that purple was a little feminine.  I liked the Kenny K stamp which is Lady Victoria,  I also used the Tim Holtz clock and the cogs embossing folder.

My Cactus is confused

I just wanted to post a picture of my Christmas Cactus before all the blooms die off.  It has been in bloom for about 6 weeks and these are the last of  the blooms.  It used to bloom at Christmas but for for the last 2 or 3 years it now blooms later.  I suppose it should be split but I am afraid of killing it as I am not very green fingered.
